Every natural stone patio we build starts with a base engineered for Ottawa's 1.2 to 1.5 metre frost line, using properly graded and compacted aggregate layers that prevent seasonal heaving.

The Ottawa River valley's clay-heavy soils require particular attention to drainage, and we incorporate French drains, catch basins, or permeable base systems as site conditions demand. For homes in heritage districts like Sandy Hill, the Glebe, or Centretown, natural stone is often the ideal material to complement the architectural character these neighbourhoods require.

Installation methods include dry-laid on granular base for flexibility and easy repair, or wet-laid on concrete slab for high-traffic applications such as outdoor dining areas. City of Ottawa building permits may be required for projects involving significant grade changes or retaining elements. We work within the short May to October building season to complete your project efficiently.
